What is
TeleBuy/900Pay?
900pay
- yet another method to deposit into your online casino account.
With "900 Pay" All you need to
have is a telephone to call and securely bill the cost of the
purchase to your phone bill. There are no hidden fees or
long-distance charges when using 900pay. 900pay is currently
available in the United States and Canada only.
Limitations:
USA : players must deposit US$35 per transaction and may charge
3 times per day.
CANADA : Players must deposit US$35 per transaction and may
charge 3 times per day. (Canadian customers will deposit $35.00
U.S. but be charged 50.00 CAN on their phone bill).
Who can use 900pay?
With 900Pay you
don't even need a credit card. All you need is your telephone.
There are no long-distance charges, no additional fees and all
online transactions will appear on your monthly phone bill as a
Navaho Networks purchase.
How
Does It Work?
900Pay is a relatively new B2C (Business-to-Consumer) product
developed by Navaho Networks Inc., a Canadian-based start-up
founded in 1999 by brothers Mark and Andre Itwaru, and founded
on the principle that 60% of online users still do not make any
Web purchases for fear of credit card fraud.
"We're
basically a credit card-free billing alternative that allows
home shoppers to purchase online content, with the cost of their
purchases going to their phone bill" says Mark Itwaru, CEO
of Navaho Networks. "And it's so easy to use."
Because
the technology behind 900Pay allows you to go offline through a
private network to connect with your telephone carrier, you
don't have to worry about providing personal information over
the public Internet. And for cable and high-speed Internet
users, that means ensuring your computer is dial-up ready.
When
you're ready to play, simply choose 900Pay as your method of
payment, enter the amount you wish to deposit, (and then from
there you'll be asked to read a list of terms and conditions).
Click to proceed and wait for verification.
What's
the Catch?
* You have to be living in an area that
supports 1-900 numbers, or one that doesn't impose any 1-900
blocks on your telephone. (You can have the block removed.) For
the most part, this applies only to U.S. residents.
* You have to dial out on your own phone.
("This way you can't just run over to your neighbour's and
rack up a bunch of charges on his phone bill," says Mark
Itwaru. "If the names don't match, we drop the call.")
* 900Pay is a deposit mechanism only.
Withdrawals are handled by the casinos.
Also, you must ensure there is no 900-service
block on your line. To test toll-free, call 1-900-993-4141 to
determine whether you can get through to 900-numbers. If
900-calls are blocked on your line, contact your service
provider to have this removed.
